I Am A Part Of All .....by Rev. John Scott

Each of us is an intrinsic part of the intricate Web of Life. We are all connected to all lifekind everywhere. Whatever affects one part of the web affects all other parts, sometimes in ways that are not immediately obvious. For example, did my pausing to acknowledge a little child begging at the traffic lights here in Kingston, stay the hand of an abused child somewhere across the world, who was about to slash his/her wrist? I will never know.
It is a sobering thought that I am not only connected somehow in some way to the deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson and Mario Deane in Montego Bay and Noname in some little known town somewhere, but I am also connected to the people accused of their untimely deaths.
On a brighter note, I also believe that I am equally a part of the glorious flowering of human potential. Every human achievement is mine; every triumph over adversity is a victory for me. My personal successes also enrich and ennoble the whole human race.
So whether I hear of human tragedy or triumph, I go within and in the tabernacle of my soul, hold the light for all concerned. I prayerfully forgive myself for my part in all human error and silently praise and bless the consciousness that contributes to the good I desire for all the world.
The Science of Mind Declaration of Principles avers, “We believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete emancipation from all discord of every nature and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.” This is my belief. This is my prayer.
